Zur Zeit der Entstehung des Neuen Testaments entwerfen Autoren unterschiedlicher Provenienz Geschichte anhand herausragender Figuren als Ort g\u00f6ttlichen Einwirkens. Den biblischen Evangelien zufolge wurde durch das Leben Jesu Christi\n eine neue \u00c4ra in der Beziehung Gottes zur Welt und der Erkenntnis Gottes durch die Menschen inauguriert. \u00c4hnlich biographisch zentrierte Darstellungen von Geschichte finden sich in angrenzenden religi\u00f6s-kulturellen Kontexten. In\n der griechisch-r\u00f6mischen Welt ragen die Lebensbeschreibungen Plutarchs heraus, des platonischen Philosophen und Priesters des Apollon in Delphi, zeitgleich rankt sich eine reiche Textproduktion um Sokrates, Pythagoras, Orpheus, Hermes,\n die Pythia und die Sieben Weisen. In der Literatur des Hellenistischen Judentums verfasst der Schriftausleger und Philosoph Philon von Alexandrien Werke \u00fcber Mose, Abraham und Joseph, daneben steht Literatur von der Weisheit Salomos\n bis hin zu Henoch oder die zw\u00f6lf Patriarchen.<\/p>\n

Das Projekt erarbeitet ausgehend von einem Vergleich der biblischen Evangelien mit ausgew\u00e4hlten Viten Plutarchs eine neue Methode transkultureller Textanalyse. Damit wird untersucht, ob und wie emblematische Einzelfiguren literarisch\n als Resonanzraum g\u00f6ttlichen Einwirkens gefasst werden. Ziel ist eine Neuverortung der biblischen Evangelien in der biographisch grundgelegten Literatur, wodurch umgekehrt die religi\u00f6sen Aspekte als integralen Teil philosophischer\n und historischer Darstellungen in der fr\u00fchen Kaiserzeit verst\u00e4ndlich gemacht werden.\n

Das Projekt wird durch den Schweizer Nationalfonds (SNF) finanziert. Geforscht wird am Institut f\u00fcr Neues Testament der Theologischen Fakult\u00e4t an der Universit\u00e4t Bern.
